Jacob oversees all aspects of the restaurant lending business which provides financing for branded restaurant chains on both a corporate and franchisee level. He specializes in portfolio and business development for both national and regional chains.

Tara oversees the risk and portfolio functions as well as monitors the financial performance of both the franchise portfolios. She has been involved in lending within the franchise sector for 12+ years.

Dimitri Mazur

Senior Manager, Restaurant Finance

Dimitri concentrates on branded restaurant financing within the quick and full service sector, facilitating take-outs, acquisitions, new constructions, relocations, conversions, and refinance solutions. He has also closed numerous corporate transactions with privately held regional restaurant groups of the “branded/non-branded, chain/non-chain” type.

Trish brings diverse cross-functional expertise spanning sales, risk, portfolio management and operations to her role. She develops relationships and creates customized financing programs with restaurant chains, and establishes lending solutions for both corporate and franchisee level transactions.

Juan Duran

Senior Manager, Hotel Finance for Western Canada

CWB Franchise Finance is pleased to announce that Juan Duran has been appointed Senior Manager Hotel Finance for Western Canada. In this role, Juan will work closely with hotel owners and developers in Western Canada to finance strategic hotel acquisitions and new-build developments, and to add value to hotel portfolios restructuring debt financing.

Juan is a proven leader who brings a deep understanding of the Canadian hotel industry gathered over a decade in senior roles in hotel development and operations. Juan most recently served as the Director of Franchise Development for Choice Hotels Canada where he led the growth strategy for the Choice brands in Western Canada. He spent the formative part of his career valuing hotel and commercial real estate investments with roles at Thomas Consultants (now part of Deloitte) and HVS, where he worked on a variety of projects including feasibility studies, appraisals, and development strategy for multi-use assets. He started his hospitality career in hotel operations with several roles in boutique hotels in downtown Toronto.

Juan graduated from the Toronto Metropolitan University (Ted Rogers School of Management) obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce Degree specializing in Hospitality and Tourism and minoring in Finance.

Patrick Schofield

Senior Manager, Hotel Finance for Eastern Canada

Patrick is responsible for originating financing to owners of branded hotels with a national mandate across Eastern Canadian markets. His experience has been solely focused on structured financing in the hospitality sector allowing him to gain an in-depth understanding of new construction, re-positioning, take-out, acquisition and refinancing transactions. 

Justin Alexander

Manager, Portfolio & Structuring

Justin is responsible for matters related to the Franchise Finance portfolio with emphasis on risk mitigation. Justin oversees and completes analytical reviews for all Franchise Finance clients on a periodic basis, as well as ensures reporting requirements are satisfied.

Manager, Documentation

Tania is responsible for drafting loan and security documentation, perfecting collateral security and reviewing third party agreements.

Mary Garisto

Mary brings over 30 years of experience in commercial and residential lending. She is responsible for the preparation of loan documentation, ensuring collateral security is perfected and funding restaurant transactions.
